Asheboro Housing Authority (AHA) was established in 1971 and currently owns and/or manages 1,105 housing units including 200 public housing units, 808 Housing Choice Vouchers (including 25 NED and 30 PBV), 40 New Construction Multifamily units, 50 multifamily LIHTC units, and eight market rental units. In addition to the Asheboro Housing Authority, the current staff of 19 manages the day-to-day operations of two non-profit instrumentalities (Wainman Homes, Inc. and Brenlin Homes, Inc.). AHA is rated as a High Performer for HUD’s PHAS and SEMAP assessments systems.
