Trauma-Informed Care

Trauma-Informed Care
  • Trauma-Informed Care is an approach in the human services field that assumes an individual is more likely than not to have a history of trauma. It shifts the focus from “What’s wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?” In this training, attendees will learn the guiding principles of trauma-informed care that serve as a framework for how systems can work to reduce the likelihood of re-traumatization. Specific applications for Family and Youth Peer Support Providers will be addressed.

This is a required training for the Family Peer Specialist Certification
